The Flux F 430 ATEX drum pump is compliant with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU – fully certified for use in Zone 0/1/2 hazardous environments, as appropriate. Correspondingly, this pump kit ensures safe operation in areas where flammable gases or vapours are likely to occur, under normal working conditions. Furthermore, this ATEX drum pump and its accessories are constructed from conductive materials. Combined with proper earth bonding, these materials reduce the chance of static electricity build-up and the associated ignition risk.
Wetted components are stainless steel 316 Ti, ceramic-oxide, FKM and ETFE – materials known for their excellent resistance to alcohols, hydrocarbons and solvents. Additionally, the high strength inner tube with oversized shaft bearings provides optimal mechanical seal support. This helps deliver reliable sealing performance at high temperatures and when running under high mechanical loads. Furthermore, optional FFKM o-rings can be specified for handling chemically aggressive chemicals and additives.
The hydrodynamically optimised ETFE axial impeller design delivers high volumetric flow rates and reduces radial loads. When fitted with a high-power compressed air motor, the pump achieves discharge pressures up to 13 mwc, making it ideal for bulk operations. However, please note this pump is not suitable for dry running (see Flux FP 424 pump).
The F 430 ATEX drum pump incorporates a 6 mm diameter stainless steel driveshaft, for maximum torsional rigidity. Furthermore, the shaft is supported by 5 or 6 brass bearings, depending on the immersion length. This results in superior stability under high axial and radial loads, even when transferring high density, or high viscosity media. The pump is also suitable for handling liquids with particulate content. Additionally, the top-pull, modular design enhances serviceability and cleanability.
Choose between two motors – the 230V single-phase electric F 460 Ex motor and the F 416 Ex compressed air motor. Both are fully Ex-certified and safe to use in explosion risk areas, as recognised by a DSEAR review. F 460 Ex offers class-leading IP 55 ingress protection with 460 W power rating, however, you may also wish to consider the more powerful F 460-1 model if higher performance is required. The F416 Ex air motor is fitted with a lockable trigger for ease of operation. Moreover, with 1000 W power rating, this motor is the most powerful option in the F 400 series motor range.
The mechanical seal ensures that no liquid enters the inner tube and driveshaft bearings. This reduces wetted surface area compared to seal-less designs, such as our FP 424. Furthermore, the unique Flux top-pull inner tube assembly can be removed in seconds for physical cleaning, or maintenance. Consequently, this design reduces the chance of cross-contamination between different fluids. When one pump is required to handle multiple different chemicals, F 430 is the optimal choice – trust Flux when fluid purity, or batch integrity is critical.
Lastly, all major components—motor, impeller, shaft, seals—are available as replaceable spare parts. This modularity supports preventative maintenance, reduces downtime and additionally extends the pump’s operational lifespan. All F 430 S models can disassembled easily into two parts, thereby making it one of the most user-friendly ATEX drum pumps available.
