1. Seal-less design for maximum chemical purity 

Firstly, the Flux F 424 chemical barrel pump features a seal-less construction with no wetted o-rings. This therefore eliminates the risk of mechanical seal failure, which could, in the worst case, lead to contamination of the pumped media.   

2. Advanced vibration and wear resistance

The key feature of the F 424 pump design is it’s unique PTFE spiral shaft bearing.

The shaft is further supported by four thick bushing rings and two heavy-duty radial lip seals. This construction virtually eliminates shaft deflection, reduces bearing load and further aids mechanical stability. Therefore, the result is class-leading longevity with extended service intervals. 

3. High-performance materials for chemical resistance

The pump housing is constructed from high quality, virgin polypropylene, consequently providing excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media. Furthermore, the impeller is moulded from ETFE – a mechanically stable, chemically inert fluoropolymer.

The Hastelloy C shaft adds exceptional strength and chemical resistance, especially against oxidising agents. In addition, the hand nozzle is again, high strength PP material, fitted with FKM o-rings. The o-rings can be switched to EPDM if required, for resistance to alkalis such as Sodium Hydroxide. 

4. Engineered for long-term use

The unique Flux reversible driveshaft design doubles service life and improves shaft balance, particularly in continuous duty or high-frequency applications.

The spiral bearing also promotes inner tube drainage, ensuring minimal fluid retention. As a consequence, risk of cross-contamination is lowered and requirements for cleaning or decontamination may be reduced. 

5. Dry-run tolerant with easy maintenance

Thanks to its seal-less construction and rugged bearing design, the F 424 PP can tolerate short periods of dry running—ideal for batch production or remotely controlled operation, when containers may empty unexpectedly.

Additionally, servicing is simple with the screw-on foot piece allowing rapid inspection and impeller replacement without specialised tools. Furthermore, all parts are available to buy as spares.
