High-pressure bolted hose clamps
A hose clamp mechanically attaches and seals a hose onto a fitting, such as a hose tail or drum pump hose connection. Its purpose is to maintain a leak-proof, gas-tight, or liquid-tight connection under varying pressure conditions.
In high-pressure fluid transfer systems, they are essential for maintaining system integrity and operational safety. They distribute clamping force evenly around the hose circumference, preventing leakage or detachment, even during thermal expansion, vibration, or mechanical stress.
Additionally, Flux hose clamps are specifically designed for industrial environments where strength and durability are paramount.
Using a Flux high pressure hose clamp is straightforward. Begin by unbolting the clamp to open it. Slide the product over the hose and push it directly over the hose tail. Next, engage the captive nut and spacer system, which stabilises the clamp during tightening and ensures even compression.
Use a torque wrench or screwdriver to tighten the clamp bolt gradually, taking care not to overtighten, which may damage the hose wall. Finally, always verify that the clamp sits flush with the hose surface and maintains uniform pressure without pinching or distortion.
This secure, reusable mechanism enables fast assembly and disassembly, reducing downtime and improving safety when using fluid handling systems.
Note that barbed hose connections and hose clamps such as these should only be used in safe area applications. Swaged type hose connections must be used in Zoned areas and ATEX applications.
