Drum Emptying Pump (99.9% Emptying) | Flux F 425

Price range: £1,500.98 through £1,560.40 Excluding VAT

What is a Drum Emptying Pump (and why does near‑total emptying matter?)

The FLUX F 425 drum emptying pump is engineered for maximum liquid recovery, achieving up to 99.9% drum emptying and thereby reducing waste and disposal costs. Equipped with a manually operated non‑return valve, the pump prevents drain‑back before removal from the drum, minimising spills and improving operator safety.

  • Up to 99.9% drum emptying - Leaves approximately 0.2 litres residual volume in a standard 205‑litre drum**, maximising product yield.
  • Prevents drain‑back and spills - A manually operated backflow prevention valve retains liquid within the pump and discharge hose before removal.
  • Reduces waste disposal costs - Less residual product means lower disposal costs and reduced environmental impact.
  • Protects high‑value liquids - Ideal for cosmetic oils, fragrances, pharmaceutical ingredients, coatings and also speciality chemicals where product loss is undesirable.
  • Improves operator safety - Minimises exposure to hazardous, toxic or flammable liquids during container changes.
  • Designed for demanding industrial applications - Suitable for situations where residual waste reduction and process cleanliness are critical.
  • Material options - Available in polypropylene (PP) for neutral, acidic and alkaline liquids, and stainless steel 316 for flammable or toxic fluids such as fuels and solvents.
  • Proven in many industries - Widely used in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and coatings sectors where efficiency, cleanliness and control are essential.

**Assumes the drum is tilted.

The FLUX F 425 is a vertical axial flow pump that operates with a detachable electric or compressed-air motor.

The pump uses a replaceable coupling star to transfer motor torque, while its low-cost design allows operators to change the wear component quickly with a flat-bladed screwdriver.

Inside the pump, a threaded driveshaft runs through a series of bearings that the inner tube houses. Furthermore, a ceramic-oxide mechanical seal prevents liquid from entering the inner tube while allowing the impeller to rotate smoothly.

Key design features

  • High-speed operation from approximately 3,000 to 10,000 RPM.
  • Ceramic-oxide mechanical seal protects internal components – driveshaft, bearings and also o-rings.
  • Replaceable coupling star simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime.
  • Three-bladed impeller design generates efficient fluid movement through the pump.
  • Powered by F 400 series cordless battery, electric or compressed-air motors.
  • Axial impeller for fast, efficient transfer from drums and IBCs.
  • Also; optional semi-axial impeller for high pressure transfer.

Operating considerations

  • Firstly, immerse the pump in the liquid before operating it.
  • Handles low viscosity liquids up to approx. 1,000 mPas.
  • Furthermore, the pump should not be run dry for extended periods (> 60 seconds).
  • The operator must be present during operation.

The F 425 features a manually operated flow-back stop valve located directly beneath the impeller. Two handles positioned at the top of the pump tube allow the operator to open or close the valve during operation.

A thumb-operated locking mechanism secures the valve in position, therefore allowing the operator to close the valve before switching off the motor.

Benefits of the flow-back stop valve

  • Retains liquid within the pump and discharge hose when container emptying is complete.
  • Prevents reverse flow into the drum after motor shutdown.
  • Simplifies pump removal and relocation between containers.
  • Reduces dripping during transport and cleaning procedures.
  • Additionally, provides greater control when handling hazardous or sensitive liquids, while reducing waste.
  • Supports safer maintenance and faster container changeovers.

This simple but effective valve arrangement helps operators control the transfer process more effectively, particularly in applications that demand cleanliness, maximum product recovery and also spill prevention.

The FLUX F 425 drum emptying pump is designed for applications where product recovery and operator safety are critical. It is particularly suited to high-value liquids, hazardous chemicals and manufacturers requiring minimal waste.
